iEAT strawberry

The robust and solid eating device makes eating independently both possible and easier for people with involuntary muscle contractions. Eating with the iEAT Power Grip requires less control and coordination, thanks to the shock absorption mechanism. An added benefit of eating with the iEAT Light Grip, is that that you can sit up straight while eating with the iEAT, which is better for your back, shoulder and neck. It also improves digestion.

How it works

The iEAT Power Grip has a high-performance shock absorption mechanism, which absorbs the movement caused by involuntary muscle contractions. The iEAT keeps the spoon horizontal and within pre-set parameters. When you let go of the iEAT, the spoon automatically returns to the pre-set mouth position. Together with the specially designed plate, which you can rotate yourself, the iEAT Power Grip minimises the risk of spilling and allows you to enjoy your meal without limitation.

  • Absorbs shocks and involuntary arm movements
  • Supports and coordinates movements required for eating
  • Comes with a Manual plate rotation-unit (Powered plate rotation-unit is optional)
  • iEAT Spoon and iEAT Plate can also be bought separately

Assistive eating and feeding devices

For most people it is very normal to eat independently, without help or assistance. But for some diminished muscle strength or involuntary muscle contractions, make it difficult if not impossible to eat independently. An assistive eating device allows you to eat own your own (again) and makes you more independent.

Our assistive feeding devices

Assistive Innovations offers 3 different types of eating and feeding devices:

The iEAT Feeding Robot is an easy to operate assistive feeding device. It is designed for people with very little or no muscle strength or muscle function and people with involuntary muscle contractions. The iEAT Feeding Robot carries out several movement in sequence, either step by step (semi-automatic) or fully automatic, depending on your preference. An additional advantage is that the iEAT allows you to determine what your next spoonful is going to be and you determine how fast or slow you want to eat.

How it works
We designed and developed the iEAT Feeding Robot to be a personal eating assistant. Not only can you control the iEAT Feeding Robot, you can also adjust almost every setting (speed, waiting time, automatic/semi-automatic mode). A Powered plate rotation-unit enables you to choose from which part of the plate you would like to take a scoop, so now you can eat completely independent.

  • Rechargeable, inbuilt battery allows several days of use without having to recharge
  • Can be operated with a single button or with an app.
  • iEAT Spoon and iEAT Plate can also be bought separately
  • Settings can be easily adjusted to personal preferences with the app

MTP eating adults

The Mealtime Partner is an electric feeding device for people with impaired use of the arms or hands. The Mealtime Partner increases the independence of the user and at the same time lessens the workload of the carer. Meals can be divided into the three bowls included in the Mealtime Partner. The bowls rotate to the desire position under the spoon. A spoonful is taken, levelled and delivered to the user’s mouth. The user must make a slight bend forwards in order to consume the contents of the spoon. This entails a small movement of the neck or upper body of circa 0,60 inch. The Mealtime Partner is operated by the user through simple buttons or through a single function switch. The Mealtime Partner can also be pre-programmed, leaving the user with nothing more to do than react to the spoon when brought to the mouth.

  • (semi) - Automatic feeding device
  • Attachable to table or table swivel arm
  • Built-in battery
  • Transparent feeding bowls suitable for microwave and dishwasher
  • Portion size adjustable
